Pros
I should start off by saying that I am not an Orvis proponent. I normally shy away from the big names. However, after building out a bamboo rod (Chris Carlin built the blank) I asked for some reel recommendations. Several folks recommended the CFO. I compared it against a number of other reels and kept coming back to the CFO for these reasons:
1) the drag is predictable and smooth
2) the action is silky smooth
2) the sound is wonderful!
3) the machining is beautiful
4) the color (I know...) is really attractive
I have been very happy with the reel. It is coming up on its 1 year anniversary. I might buy it a new spool and a sink tip line to celebrate.
