Manufacturer Description Clouser's approach to fly design begins and ends onstream, with a lot of time spent in between at the workbench. Careful observation of the behaviors, habitats, and physical features of the foods fish eat is essential to developing a fly that looks and acts like the real thing. But the pattern must also pass rigorous standards of durability, ease of casting, and most importantly, consistently catching fish before it can be called a winner. Including variations on his famous original Deep Minnow, Clouser presents recipes for seventeen of his most successful patterns for baitfish, subsurface freshwater foods, and surface flies with detailed explanations and superb full-color photographs to accompany every step. In sections devoted to materials and tying techniques, Clouser offers insight into his methods and provides a solid foundation for designing flies with confidence.

Pros
Should be a staple in the book arsenal for any warmwater flyfisher. Simple step by step patterns along with excellent photgraphy make this a wonderful reference.
Cons Balked a little at the price as it is not a very thick read, but it is worth it.

Pros
If you are a fan of the Clouser minnow then this book is a must. Bob Clouser is an inspirational Fly Tier and the variations on the clouser theme are nice to see. It is good to see how the man himself ties the flies which made him so recognised.
Cons Perhaps it is a sign of a good book, but it did leave me a little wanting. I wanted more, and would have welcomed a few more acknowledgements to the more upto date variations of the clouser style of dressing.
Having said that I do not regret buying this book and would recommend it
