Rivers of Shadow, Rivers of Sun: A Fly-Fisher's European Journal by Redwings1 This book is titled 'A Flyfisher's European Journal'. I decided to take a break from the technical manuals and how-to books to read this wonderful little book. Norm Zeigler grew up fishing the East Coast of the United States, and then around the country. After college, he went to Europe where he worked as a travel and outdoor editor. The fact that Norm made his living as a writer and editor is apparent in this beautifully written collection of stories of his travels throughout Europe in pursuit of fish. Actually, the fishing portion of the book is small to non-existent, as he focuses on everything else. So vivid is his portrayal of the small towns he travels through, roads driven on and areas travelled that I swore I could see, taste, smell, and experience everything he did. Admittedly I am a quick reader, but I tore through this 290-page book as if it were a magazine and was left wanting more. If you are looking for a good "read" detailing trips in their entirety, and not just the fish catching portion, then this is a very solid choice.
